Local Restaurants

Several restaurants are convenient to the Mill Hill Playhouse. We’ve listed some our favorites below, or check out HiddenTrenton.com for extensive restaurant reviews.Hidden Trenton RestaurantsSettimo Cielo is one of the closest restaurants to the theatre.  It has superb, Northern Italian food.  Unfortunately, not open on weekends.  But a great place for a Thursday or Friday performance.

The Mill Hill Saloon has a decent, inexpensive menu and a full bar.  Cuisine tends towards Italian-American and includes good burgers.  The kitchen stays open late and is likely to be open after a Friday or Saturday performance.

Trenton Social is a couple of blocks further down Broad Street, but still close to the Theatre and provides a more sophisticated bar menu.

The Big Easy serves several kinds of fish and chicken, with soul-staples like collard greens and mac & cheese. It closes at 7 PM on Thursdays.

Thomasena’s is just a step or two away from the Playhouse if you need a quick dinner before a show. Serving delicious soul food in a relaxed cafeteria-style atmosphere, they can’t be beat for convenience.

Two restaurants worth mentioning, though each requires a short drive:

  • Amici Milano is the last of the Chambersburg Italian restaurants.  Jimmy, its owner, has been a regular supporter of Passage.  If you go, tell him you’re a patron, and that we sent you.
  • No understanding of contemporary Trenton is complete without knowing about the Hispanic community.  Guatemalan restaurants are to today’s Trenton what Italian restaurants were to the Trenton of the 1950s.  Our favorite is: Restaurante El Mariachi.
