Teaching Disco Square Dancing to Our Elders: A Class Presentation

Directed by Suzana Berger

Best friends Kenny Two Hawks and Martin Leads to Water, plus outsider Amanda Smith, have all received unusual topics for their 8th grade final presentations. With Kenny on the brink of not making it into high school, Martin flummoxed by where to start on Teaching Square Dancing to Senior Citizens, and Amanda in need of an elder to interview who shares her Lakota heritage, the three teens must band together to make one awesome presentation. Over one weekend, friendship is tested, first love blooms, and serious secrets threaten to unravel everything. Luckily, Grandma Two Hawks is nearby to keep everyone on track with humor, guidance and a wicked disco dance. This play is suitable for ages 10 and above.

This event is part of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance 2020 Stages Festival, made possible by support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts; Bank of America; The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey; OceanFirst Foundation; the George A.
