Julia Bumke

Julia Bumke is a new work dramaturg and nonprofit strategist who is passionate about fostering playwrights, composers, and librettists at all stages of their careers. She collaborates with artists to craft singular projects as a mix of editor, advocate, and trusted confidante. Her recent work includes premieres and workshops with Oberlin Conservatory, OPERA America, Passage Theatre Company, Opera Philadelphia, Curtis Institute of Music, PEAK Performances at Montclair State University, the American Repertory Theater, Lincoln Center Theater, PlayPenn, and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. She serves as Managing Director for the JACK Quartet, a string quartet hailed by The New York Times as “our leading new-music foursome.” Julia also works with clients as a nonprofit strategist, with projects in New York and Philadelphia, and has held administrative positions with Sō Percussion, The Wilma Theater, Williamstown Theatre Festival, the American Repertory Theater, and PlayPenn. Julia received her A.B. from Princeton, and her M.F.A. in Dramaturgy from A.R.T.’s Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard. www.juliabumke.com
