Love and Communication

By James J. Christy
Directed by Adam Immerwahr

A married couple finds themselves in a byzantine world of internet gurus, school administrators, ethically-challenged teachers and one another in their efforts to get through to their autistic child. This surprising, sharp and witty play by Princeton resident James J. Christy is an incisive look at marriage, parenthood and the lengths we’ll go to reach the ones we love. Love and Communication is another premiere work from the Passage Theatre Playwrights Lab!

Santa Claus is Coming Out

By Jeffrey Solomon
Directed by Joe Brancato

(special event two performances only)

A Passage Theatre favorite, Jeffrey Solomon (MotherSON) returns with his hilarious, clever and endearing new one-man comedy.  Santa Claus is Coming Out purports to tell the "true" story of Santa being outed as gay, but uses it as a vehicle to examine with humor and compassion today's culture wars and the desperate need for tolerance.

February 12

State Street Project Playmaking

(special event two performances only)

Some of the funniest actors in the region interpret brand new plays by Trenton’s school kids. These productions have developed a cult following over the years. If you think this is all kid stuff, you are in for a surprise. (Tickets are free but donations are appreciated)

March 4-27

10th Annual Solo Flight Festival

The Solo Flight Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary with some of the most exciting performers yet.

Carlo D’Amore will roar into Trenton with No Parole, demonstrating his indomitable spirit and unique theatrical style. Part Incan Indian, Italian, French and Spanish with a healthy splash of zany, D’Amore has delighted both audiences and critics across the country. In this wry, energetic adventure play, D’Amore takes you on a wild journey through the real life of a flamboyant, live-for-the-moment con artist mother, who has no trouble posing as an attorney, professor, daycare worker, or diplomat, as seen through the eyes of her young son, who acts as her look-out, bail bondsman, and partner-in-crime.

Ragtime pianist and raconteur Terry Waldo will return with a brand new show, Tales from the Bawdy House, delighting audiences with stories and songs from America’s most famous red-light districts: New Orleans’s Storyville, New York’s Tin Pan Alley, St Louis’s Rose Bud Café and more. Thanks to Terry, Passage audiences will get a full-course sound feast of the music and spirit of the once-legal underworld of some of America’s most colorful cities.

Princeton chanteuse and actress Mary Martello returns this season with a show on Kurt Weill, the German and American stage composer. Mary has crafted an intimate portrait in song and story of a complicated man and musician, bringing little know aspects of his career into the limelight. Solo Flights will be adding shows to its roster through December so check the web site for new additions.
