Exciting, Professional Theatre in the Heart of Trenton ".....the first rank of professional companies in the territory." -- Princeton Packet Passage Theatre is a showcase for many of today's most provocative playwrights, both emerging and established. As a key participant in the revitalization of urban Trenton, we present outstanding plays that celebrate experiences common to all and transcend culture and race. The theatre supports education that enhance the lives and aspirations of Trenton's youth and families, and helps develop playwrights and other theatre artists through an extensive program of readings, workshops, and support groups. The State Street Project is an educational outreach effort aimed at Trenton's young people, ages 8 to 22. Founded in 1995, the State Street Project is based on a model developed by New York's 52nd Street Project, and matches Trenton young people with professional artist-mentors in playwriting, performance and technical theatre classes. In 2005, the project's focus expanded to include the Anti-Violence Arts Initiative, which creates arts programs and performances that explore the causes and potential solutions to violence in the Trenton community, whether it takes place in the schools, in the home or in the streets. | | |
